Word on the street is that Maria Sharapova is going to Spain after Miami to work on her clay game to gear up for Roland Garros. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that she thinks she can win a golden slam. And she might be right. This is the best chance anyone has had for a golden slam in a while. If she can get the French it will be very possible. Conceivably, Sharapova could win the French with a kind draw (i.e. no early meetings with Henin) because if she can get late into a tournament she is extremely hard to beat, regardless the playing surface. We will see, we will see.
