I told you it would be comical when Rafa Nadal played Andy Roddick in reverse singles and it was. Rafa destroyed Roddick, 6-4, 6-0, 6-4. With a muscle strain. In his ass. Nadal revealed in the post match press conference that he almost didn’t play because an MRI on Saturday revealed a minor strain in his “famous arse”. Spain has now clinched the tie, no matter the outcome of the Ferrer-Querrey match. Roddick fell to 0-5 in must win Davis Cup matches.
Oh, hey Feliciano.

Samosaurus took a set off of Rafa Nadal. On clay. Impressive, Samosaurus. This guy has some clay court prowess, which is rare for an American these days. Sam took the first set in a tiebreak over Nadal, in the first rubber of the USA – Spain Davis Cup tie. From there on Rafa was too good, and won the next three sets, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4.
It’s going to be funny when Rafa plays Andy Roddick in the reverse singles. Just comical.

Rafa Nadal wore this sleeveless shirt, the same one he used in Toronto and Cincinnati, in his first round match at the U.S. Open today. However, everyone thought he was going to be wearing this:
I’m glad Rafa isn’t wearing the sleeves because he kind of seemed like the Incredible Hulk and that the shirt was going to rip right off of him.

It’s been four and a half years since their was a world number one not named Federer. Rafael Nadal chased Roger Federer for 160 weeks and now he finally has the top spot.
And with 3 masters series titles, 2 grand slams and an Olympic gold medal this year no one deserves it more than him. Congratulations, Rafa!

158 weeks after Rafa Nadal first became number 2 in the world, he takes the top spot with his 7-6 (3), 6-1 win over Nicolas Lapentti. Now it’s only a matter of when.
If he loses tomorrow to Djokovic, he’ll have to wait until August 18.
If he loses in the final, he’ll become number 1 on August 11.
If he wins the title, he’ll take the top spot this Monday, August 4
