World Number 1’s Find Form and a Place in 4th Round

World Number 1’s, Roger Federer and Maria Sharapova, found their game in their third round matches on Day 7 of Roland Garros. Federer has been struggling (by his standards) this whole year, winning only one small title in Estoril. His dismantling of Mario Ancic, 6-3, 6-4, 6-2, shows that he is completely recovered from the mono that plagued him at the beginning of the year. Sharapova, however, has been having a stellar year, winning the Australian Open, and having a record of 30-2. She struggled through the first two rounds against opponents ranked outside the top 100, being taken to the third in both matches. In the second set of her third round against Karin Knapp, she turned it back on winning it, 6-0.
