Roger Federer lost to Andy Murray in the first round of the Dubai Tennis Championships in three sets, 7-6 (6), 3-6, 4-6. There have been whispers of Roger’s dominance coming to an end for months now, but this loss could turn that whisper into a scream. This is the second time in the past 4 months that R-Fed has lost back to back matches. The younger players are now stepping up to the challenge imposed by Federer… and they’re winning. This could mark the beginning of the end for Federer’s era of dominance.

Aww.. How Sweet
“She is the most important person in my life and all that I have today I owe it to her” is what Elena Dementieva was quoted saying about her mother, Vera, after her recent win in Dubai. Contradictory to this statement is this photo:

Poor mother Vera, doing all the hard work. Jesus, Elena, you’re the professional athlete, I think you are the one thats supposed to be pushing the cart, not your poor old mother.
